Most cases turn on a handful of facts. Usually someone knows them, and very often that someone would rather they stayed buried. Valkyrie works for solicitors, barristers and in-house legal teams to find those facts, the people who hold them, and the assets that make a judgment worth having.
Evidence the other side did not expect you to have
Pleadings set out what each party says happened. Our job is to establish what actually did. That might mean tracing the history of a company that seems to have appeared from nowhere, building a picture from public records and open source research, carrying out surveillance to test an account of someone’s movements, or recovering messages and documents through digital forensics. Every enquiry is lawful, proportionate and documented, so that what we find can be relied on rather than argued over.
Finding people
Witnesses move, defendants disappear and former employees change their names on social media. We trace individuals for service, for interview and for evidence, and we approach witnesses with care: a poorly handled first contact can lose a cooperative witness for good.
Finding the money
A judgment is only as good as your ability to enforce it. Before issuing, and again before enforcing, we look at what a party really owns and controls, including interests held through companies, family members or associates. That intelligence informs whether to litigate, how to frame freezing relief and where enforcement is most likely to succeed.
Private prosecutions
Where a client chooses to bring a private prosecution, we carry out the investigation and gather the evidence, working alongside the instructing law firm, which conducts the prosecution. We understand that the evidential standards and disclosure obligations in a criminal case are different from civil proceedings, and we work to them from the outset.
Reports you can use
Our reports are written for lawyers: clear about sources, honest about limitations and suitable for exhibiting where needed. When the evidence calls for an expert, our Bond Solon trained digital forensic experts provide CPR Part 35 reports.
