Valkyrie carries out forensic extraction and analysis of mobile phones and tablets, including messages, call logs, location and app data. A phone is often the single most important source of evidence in a dispute, and it is also the easiest to lose through reuse, upgrades or a factory reset.
What a phone can show
- Text, iMessage, WhatsApp and other messaging app conversations
- Call history, contacts and voicemail
- Photographs and videos, with the dates and places they were taken
- Location history and movements over time
- Internet history, app usage and connected accounts
- Where possible, deleted material and evidence of deletion
Matters we assist with
Departing employees taking client data, harassment and threatening messages, family proceedings, commercial disputes over what was agreed and when, and allegations of fabricated or altered messages.
Targeted and proportionate
Phones contain a great deal of private and sometimes privileged material. We agree the scope with instructing solicitors in advance, such as date ranges, contacts or keywords, so that only relevant material is reviewed and reported.
Common questions
Can deleted WhatsApp messages be recovered?
Sometimes. It depends on the device, its settings, backups and how much it has been used since. We will tell you honestly what is achievable before work begins.
Do you need the passcode?
Having it makes the examination quicker and more complete. Speak to us before attempting to unlock or reset a device.
Phones are often central when a relationship ends. Our digital divorce guide explains stalkerware and what to do about it.
Findings can be presented in an expert witness report. See all our digital forensics services or contact us to discuss a device.
