Perimeter Security

An intruder who reaches the front door has already beaten most of your security. The perimeter is where the contest is usually won or lost: the fence line, the gates, the gap behind the garages, the field that backs onto a quiet lane. It is also where security can be made almost invisible, protecting a property without turning it into a fortress.

Deter, detect, delay

A good perimeter does three jobs. It deters, by making the property look like hard work. It detects, so that an attempt to cross it is noticed quickly. And it delays, giving time for a response before anyone reaches the building. We assess how well each layer is working and where the weak points are.

Every site is different

A country estate with open land, a London townhouse with a mews entrance and a commercial yard full of plant each need a different approach. We look at boundaries, gates and vehicle access, lighting, landscaping and sightlines, and how all of these behave at night and in winter, when most intrusions happen.

Proportionate and discreet

For many private clients, the aim is protection that does not spoil the look or feel of a home. For businesses, it is protection that does not get in the way of operations. Both are achievable with careful design.

Perimeter measures are most effective combined with intrusion detection and well-designed CCTV. Arrange a site visit.
