Concept of Operations

By Dave Webb | 12 Nov 2021

In the Military a Concept-of-Operations (CONOPS) is a high-level document that can be used in a variety of scenarios but is generally a description (graphic and wording) of how a set of capabilities may be employed to achieve a mission, desired objectives/aims or end state.
When briefing busy leadership teams or key individual in the commercial sector, when brevity is vitally important especially when a face-to-face is not possible, Valkyrie find utilising a 1-page document loosely based on the Military CONOPS is very useful and an effective tool.
In the attached example it’s been used for a threat Intelligence Summary for Jazan/KSA in 2015 - used in this scenario it allows Leadership to make quick and informed decisions without having to wade through long and detailed documents.
