In 2021 we were tasked by a client to investigate an individual who was using threatening words and behaviour towards the client and persons connected with the client. This individual was already charged and awaiting trial for Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH). This proved to be substantial and complicated investigation, and the police were heavily involved. Here at Valkyrie, we worked closely with the client and the police and utilised all aspects of our services.
Our involvement included a comprehensive assessment of the homes and offices of the victims, providing advice on how to enhance their home and personal security including the installation of a safe area. We conducted surveillance on the offender and individuals linked to him and also conducted an in-depth open-source intelligence investigation on him and his connections. Cyber security proved to be an integral part of the investigation and through this we managed to gain important intelligence to further assist the police and information to protect the client.
After several months of hard work, the investigation concluded and the offender was found guilty of GBH, witness intimidation and blackmail with the judge stating he will serve a minimum of 15 years in prison.
When we heard the result and the fact that we were instrumental in putting a violent and dangerous individual behind bars, I had the same euphoric feeling as I did when we had a successful conviction during my time in the police. A great result by all elements involved and always a great feeling when hard work pays off.
